Hey, So long time no communicate! I have posted a new review from Dusted Magazine's great "Still Single," column. ALSO, Cloudland Canyon has been asked to play at this years Austin Psych Fest which is curated by the insanely amazing, Black Angels. It's going to be amazing! Cloudland Canyon will be touring before and afterwards with more amazing bands!

Galaxie 500 covers from what seems like a logical pairing of bands, both for the covers and a split, though I’ve heard just a little from either group. Citay take on “Tugboat” with great respect for the Galaxie vibe, a pretty straight tribute, and there’s a towering guitar solo that seals the deal. Cloudland Canyon get appropriately blissed out with their version of “Temperature’s Rising,” more abstract and smeared in a way that connects the dots over to MBV and Spacemen 3. Should be a fan pleaser, but first, for gosh sakes, go after those recent Galaxie reissues if you need to and haven’t already. (http://www.intercoastalartists.com)

How's it going? Intercoastal artists is a new record label located in north america . our first release scheduled for may '10 will be a CLOUDLAND CANYON/CITAY split 7". This release has been in the works for a couple years now and has finally come to fruition. There is a very limited number of records pressed for our first release. in case you are not aware;

*CITAY “Tugboat”/ *CLOUDLAND CANYON “Temperature’s Rising”

This is both bands first 7” inch record and they each chose to cover GALAXIE 500.

Cloudland Canyon (Holy Mountain, Kranky, Not Not Fun) steps out from behind the curtain to reveal just a little bit about themselves and their influences. Here the band has filled the gap between the Velvet Underground and the style of shoegaze, exemplified by the Lilys, Flying Saucer Attack, or Trashmonk (etc,). Cloudland Canyon has taken all of these aforesaid influences, and pushed them further out, out, out into outer space. How can you stare at your shoes when you’re this far out? Cloudland Canyon!


Meanwhile Citay (Dead Oceans) display their musical prowess and courage with "Tugboat." Citay are known for making 21st century prog, though this doesn’t become apparent until the end of the track. Mostly, they do a straight, maybe even a little stripped down, version of their unique style. Citay, nay Ezra Feinberg, spent some time in Piano Magic and this new one should do his former mates proud. This track also appears on the Citay’s new album Dream Get Together on Dead Oceans, but is best heard as a single.
